Scoglio Scruopolo is a rocky shoal off Ischia that creates an exciting underwater landscape of boulders, swim-throughs, and overhangs. The volcanic rock formations are densely covered with Mediterranean marine growth, including bright orange sponges, sea fans, and false coral colonies. Octopus are frequently encountered hunting between the boulders, while moray eels peek from their dens. The shallow top of the reef allows plenty of light to penetrate, creating beautiful plays of light and shadow. An engaging dive for beginners and experienced divers alike.
