Peschereccio Greco is an advanced wreck dive near Santa Maria di Leuca, where a Greek fishing vessel rests on the seabed at the meeting point of the Adriatic and Ionian seas. The wooden and metal hull has been transformed into an atmospheric artificial reef, with dense marine growth covering every surface. Conger eels occupy the hold, scorpionfish rest on the decking, and schools of bream circle the structure. The wreck's modest size makes for a focused exploration, with plenty of time to appreciate both the maritime heritage and the rich marine colonization that Puglia's nutrient-rich waters support.
