Punta Meliso is a beginner-friendly dive at the southernmost tip of Puglia near Santa Maria di Leuca, where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet at the 'heel' of the Italian boot. The rocky promontory extends underwater with gentle slopes covered in Mediterranean sponges, Posidonia beds, and small gorgonians. The mixing of two seas creates unique conditions that support diverse marine life — damselfish, grouper, and ornate wrasse are commonly spotted.
