Piramide is an advanced dive site in the Porto Conte Marine Protected Area near Alghero, Sardinia, named for a distinctive pyramid-shaped rock formation that rises from 35 meters to create a dramatic underwater pinnacle. The four-sided structure channels currents around its flanks, creating upwellings that attract dense concentrations of fish life. Barracuda, amberjack, and dentex circle the pyramid in impressive numbers, while the rock faces are covered in luxuriant gorgonian gardens. The deeper base harbors red coral colonies and large slipper lobsters. The pyramid's summit, at around 18 meters, is a perfect safety stop location where divers can observe the pelagic action from a coral-encrusted perch. This site exemplifies the best of Sardinia's underwater topography — a natural monument rising from the blue, teeming with Mediterranean marine life.
