Secca dell'Elefante is a beginner-friendly seamount dive in the Tavolara Marine Protected Area, named after the nearby elephant-shaped rock formation visible from the surface. The submerged reef features granite boulders covered in vibrant sponges and surrounded by extensive Posidonia meadows. Large grouper are the highlight, often swimming alongside divers with remarkable confidence. Schools of barracuda pass through in the current, while nudibranchs and sea stars add detailed macro interest. The shallow depth and excellent visibility make this an ideal dive for experiencing the full richness of Sardinia's protected marine ecosystems.
