Secca delle Ancore — 'Shoal of Anchors' — is an advanced dive in the Tavolara Marine Protected Area, named for the ancient anchors scattered on the seabed from centuries of maritime traffic. These archaeological artifacts rest alongside natural granite reef formations, creating a unique fusion of history and marine biology. Large grouper patrol between the anchors, while gorgonians and sponges have colonized the ancient iron and stone. The site's depth and occasional currents require advanced skills, but the rare combination of underwater archaeology and thriving marine reserve biodiversity is truly exceptional.
