The Canyon

The Canyon is an advanced deep dive near Capo Galera off Alghero, where a dramatic underwater gorge cuts through the limestone seabed reaching 38 meters at its deepest point. The canyon walls are adorned with pristine gorgonian forests, red coral, and fields of golden zoanthids in the deeper sections. Large grouper and moray eels inhabit the canyon's crevices, while the upper walls host dense Mediterranean marine growth. The depth and the canyon's channeling effect on currents demand solid experience, but this is one of Alghero's most spectacular underwater geological formations.
