Koh Trang Ol is an intermediate dive site around a small island further offshore from Sihanoukville, Cambodia, where deeper waters reaching 26 meters support a richer marine ecosystem. The reef around the island features impressive coral diversity, with large table corals, massive Porites formations, and vibrant soft coral gardens. The deeper position and exposure to open-water currents attract bigger marine life — schools of barracuda and jacks are regular sights, while bamboo sharks and larger groupers inhabit the reef's deeper sections. The gorgonian coverage on the current-facing walls is particularly impressive. Visibility tends to be better at this offshore location, sometimes reaching 15-20 meters during the dry season. Koh Trang Ol is one of those sites that rewards the extra boat time with a noticeably different quality of diving — healthier coral, larger fish, and a genuine sense of being out in Cambodia's largely unexplored underwater frontier.
