Condor Reef is an advanced dive site off Sihanoukville, Cambodia, representing one of the more challenging and rewarding dives in the country's developing dive scene. The reef is an offshore pinnacle that rises from deeper waters, attracting nutrient-rich currents that support exceptional marine biodiversity. The rock structure is covered with barrel sponges, gorgonian fans, and soft coral trees, creating a colorful underwater forest. The currents bring larger marine life to the pinnacle: schools of barracuda, jacks, and cobia circle the reef, while bamboo sharks and occasional reef sharks patrol the deeper sections. The reef's advanced rating reflects the depth, current conditions, and distance from shore that require experience and proper planning. For those equipped to handle the conditions, Condor Reef offers Cambodia's closest approximation to the big-fish diving typically associated with more established Southeast Asian dive destinations.
