The MV Cominoland is an advanced wreck dive off Malta near Gozo, where this former passenger ferry rests adjacent to the MV Karwela, creating a unique double-wreck diving experience. Sunk deliberately as an artificial reef, the Cominoland offers a complementary wreck to its neighbour, with a different layout and character that rewards separate exploration. The vessel sits on the sandy bottom near the Karwela, close enough that both wrecks can be visited on a single dive with careful air management. The Cominoland's hull and superstructure provide substantial exploration opportunities, with prepared access points allowing safe penetration of multiple compartments. The wreck's layout differs from the Karwela, with different deck configurations and interior spaces that offer fresh experiences even for divers who have thoroughly explored the neighbouring vessel. The engine room, bridge, and passenger areas each provide distinct diving environments, from the open, light-filled deck areas to the darker, more atmospheric interior compartments. Marine colonisation of the Cominoland mirrors that of the Karwela, with sponges, tunicates, and algae establishing on the hull surfaces. The fish community has adopted the wreck as habitat, with groupers, damselfish, and wrasses all present. The proximity of two artificial reefs has created a combined habitat with greater biodiversity than either wreck would support alone. The advanced rating reflects the depth and overhead environments within the wreck structure. The site's position in Malta's consistently clear waters means navigation is straightforward, with visibility frequently exceeding 30 metres. Water temperatures range from 15 to 26 degrees across the seasons. The Cominoland, together with the Karwela, offers one of the Mediterranean's unique double-wreck diving experiences.
