Twin Barges is an advanced wreck dive off Mahé Island in the Seychelles, where two sunken barges rest at twenty-four meters on the seabed near the main island's coast. These deliberately sunk vessels provide an artificial reef environment that concentrates marine life and creates a wreck diving experience accessible from the Seychelles' tourism infrastructure. The two barges sit in close proximity on the sandy seabed, their combined structures creating an extensive artificial reef that attracts marine life from the surrounding area. The descent reveals both vessels emerging from the blue, their flat-bottomed forms settled on the bottom and progressively colonized by the marine organisms that thrive in the Seychelles' warm Indian Ocean waters. Marine colonization of the barges has transformed the industrial structures into living reefs. Hard and soft corals, sponges, and encrusting organisms cover the metal surfaces, creating habitat that attracts fish and invertebrates in impressive numbers. The contrast between the two vessels provides interesting comparison opportunities, as different sections of each barge support distinct communities depending on their orientation, depth, and exposure to current. Fish populations around the twin barges are impressive. The structures concentrate species that are otherwise scattered across the open seabed, creating encounters of intensity that natural reefs in the area rarely match. Schools of tropical fish swirl around the superstructure, while larger species including groupers and trevally patrol the barges' perimeters. The barges' open structure allows comfortable exploration of their exterior and accessible interior spaces. The flat cargo areas, bridge sections, and the gaps between the vessels create varied diving experiences within a compact area. Moray eels, lobsters, and various crustaceans inhabit the darker recesses. Twin Barges delivers a substantial wreck diving experience within easy reach of Mahé's dive operations, combining the atmospheric appeal of wreck exploration with the rich tropical marine life that the Seychelles' warm waters support.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
