Ferguson's Cove near Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a beginner-friendly shore dive in a sheltered cove at the outer approaches of Halifax Harbour. Easy rocky shore entry leads to calm waters with a varied bottom of boulders, gravel, and sand. Tidal water flowing from the harbour brings nutrients supporting healthy marine growth. Lobsters, rock crabs, sea stars, and cunner are reliably found. The cove's proximity to Halifax and consistent conditions make it one of the city's most popular after-work dive spots, particularly valued during the warm summer months when visibility is at its best.
