Costa Rican Trader Shipwreck near Halifax, Nova Scotia, is an intermediate wreck dive on a freighter that sank near the city's harbour entrance. The wreck lies at moderate depth with the hull partially broken but recognizable. The proximity to the harbour means nutrient-rich waters support dense marine growth on the wreck. Large schools of pollock circle the superstructure while lobsters of impressive size inhabit the hull openings. Anemones, sea stars, and encrusting sponges cover every surface. The wreck's accessibility from Halifax makes it one of the most-dived wrecks in Nova Scotia, with dive shops offering regular trips throughout the summer season.
