
Sandy Cove near Terence Bay in Nova Scotia is a beginner-friendly shore dive with a sandy beach providing comfortable entry into sheltered waters. The bottom transitions from sand to rocky reef offshore, supporting diverse cold-water communities. Lobsters, crabs, sea stars, and urchins populate the rocky areas while flatfish and moon snails inhabit the sandy zones. Kelp beds provide shelter for juvenile fish and invertebrates. The cove's calm conditions and easy access make it a popular training site for the Halifax diving community, with summer offering the warmest water and best visibility.
