Kolkhosnik, also known as the Russian wreck, is an advanced dive off Nova Scotia on a Soviet-era fishing vessel that sank in Canadian waters. The wreck rests at depth on the ocean floor with much of its structure intact, providing a fascinating glimpse into Cold War-era Soviet maritime technology. The hull is heavily colonized by cold-water organisms including massive anemone gardens and encrusting sponges. Large schools of pollock circle the structure, and lobsters of impressive size inhabit the interior. The wreck's unique historical significance and rich marine ecosystem make it one of Nova Scotia's most intriguing advanced dives.
