Long Cove near Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a beginner-friendly shore dive in a sheltered cove that offers consistent conditions and easy access. The cove's rocky bottom slopes gradually to moderate depth, with large boulders and ledges creating interesting topography for exploration. The usual Atlantic Canadian cold-water species are well-represented, with lobsters in almost every suitable crevice and dense populations of sea stars and urchins. Cunner are abundant among the kelp-covered rocks. The cove's orientation provides protection from prevailing winds and swells, making it a reliable dive site when more exposed locations are too rough for comfortable diving.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
