
Lobera de Curaumilla near Quintay is an intermediate dive site at a sea lion colony along the rugged central Chilean coast. Named for the resident colony of South American sea lions, this site offers thrilling encounters as curious juveniles approach divers in the water. The rocky reef around the colony supports dense kelp forests and diverse invertebrate communities nourished by the Humboldt Current. The presence of the sea lions combined with the rich marine ecosystem creates one of the most memorable diving experiences in the Valparaíso region.
