Fateixa is an intermediate dive to 20 meters off São Vicente island in Cape Verde. This site features a volcanic reef with an old anchor (fateixa in Creole) resting on the seabed, now serving as a focal point for marine life. The anchor and surrounding volcanic rocks are encrusted with marine growth, attracting schools of damselfish, wrasses, and trumpetfish. Large moray eels inhabit the rocky overhangs, and nurse sharks are occasionally spotted. The site offers a pleasant mix of historical maritime artifact and natural reef exploration in the clear Atlantic waters of the Cabo Verdean archipelago.
