El Gilwa East is a beginner-friendly dive in the Strait of Gubal, Egypt's Red Sea, on the eastern side of a reef system. Morning sun bathes the coral wall in beautiful light, revealing healthy soft coral gardens in pinks, purples, and yellows. Anemonefish, butterflyfish, and surgeon fish populate the reef, while sandy channels between coral heads harbour stingrays and moray eels. The gentle conditions and photogenic setting make El Gilwa East an enjoyable dive for all levels during liveaboard stops in the strait.
