Gota El Dir is a beginner-friendly reef dive in the Strait of Gubal, Egypt's Red Sea. This submerged coral formation rises from a sandy bottom, covered in healthy hard corals and surrounded by schools of reef fish. The compact size makes navigation easy, allowing divers to circle the entire formation in one dive. Anemonefish, cleaner wrasses, and hawkfish are resident, while the sandy surroundings host garden eels and blue-spotted stingrays. A charming small reef perfect for relaxed diving between wreck dives.
