Alcala Reef is a beginner-friendly shore dive off the fishing village of Alcalá on Tenerife's western coast, reaching 14 meters depth. This accessible site features a volcanic reef system extending from the harbor breakwater, with scattered boulders, sand channels, and rocky ridges creating varied habitats. Green sea turtles are regular visitors, and the reef hosts trumpetfish, parrotfish, ornate wrasse, and schools of salema. Octopuses and cuttlefish provide entertaining encounters in the crevices, while the sandy areas may reveal angel sharks during cooler months. The sheltered position and easy access from the village make Alcala Reef a reliable and enjoyable dive for all levels.
