El Ala de la Avioneta is a unique dive site off Carboneras in Almería, southeastern Spain, named after the wing of a small aircraft that rests on the seabed. This beginner-friendly site combines the intrigue of the aircraft remnant with a natural rocky reef, creating an unusual diving experience. The metal structure has become an artificial reef, attracting sponges, anemones, and schools of small fish that use it for shelter. The surrounding natural reef features Mediterranean species including moray eels, octopuses, and damselfish. The site's moderate depth and calm conditions make it accessible to all levels, with the aircraft wing providing a unique photo opportunity.
