El Vapor Chocholita is an advanced wreck dive site off the coast of Carboneras in Almería province, southeastern Spain. This site features the remains of a steam-powered vessel resting on the Mediterranean seabed, now transformed into a thriving artificial reef. The wreck's metal structure is colonized by sponges, bryozoans, and soft corals, while its interior provides shelter for conger eels, groupers, and schools of Mediterranean cardinal fish. Barracuda and amberjack frequent the waters above the wreck, and lucky divers may spot eagle rays passing in the blue. The depth and occasional currents make this a site suited to experienced divers exploring Almería's underwater heritage.
