El Avion

El Avión is a deep advanced wreck dive off the northeastern coast of Tenerife, featuring the remains of a sunken aircraft resting at 40 meters depth on the ocean floor. This unique underwater attraction draws experienced divers to explore the aircraft's fuselage and wings, now heavily colonized by sponges, hydroids, and encrusting marine life. Large conger eels inhabit the interior spaces, while barracuda and amberjack patrol the open water above. The surrounding sandy bottom may reveal angel sharks and stingrays resting nearby. The extreme depth demands excellent gas planning, advanced certification, and experience with deep diving, but the reward is one of Tenerife's most unusual and atmospheric underwater experiences.
