Tunnel

Tunnel is an advanced dive site off the northeastern coast of Tenerife near Tacoronte, featuring a dramatic volcanic tunnel formation that divers swim through. The natural lava tube extends through a rocky ridge, with its entrance wide enough for comfortable single-file passage before opening into a chamber on the other side. The tunnel walls are decorated with sponges, encrusting organisms, and small shrimp, while light effects at both ends create atmospheric blue-water views. The surrounding reef hosts groupers, moray eels, and dense schools of Atlantic fish in the nutrient-rich northern waters. Strong currents and the overhead environment require advanced skills and good buoyancy control.
