El Balito / Marazur

El Balito / Marazur is an advanced deep dive site off Tenerife's southwestern coast near Alcalá, reaching 35 meters depth. This site features a volcanic ridge dropping steeply into the Atlantic, with its walls covered in impressive gorgonian gardens, black coral, and large sponge formations at depth. The deep reef attracts large pelagic species including amberjack, barracuda, and occasional manta rays during seasonal passages. Resident groupers of significant size guard the deeper ledges, while moray eels and conger eels inhabit the wall's many cavities. The combination of depth, currents, and offshore boat access makes El Balito a demanding but spectacular dive for experienced divers seeking Tenerife's deeper underwater treasures.
