El Tubo is an advanced dive site near Mazarrón on the Murcian coast, reaching 16 meters depth. Named 'the tube' for a distinctive volcanic tube formation that divers can swim through, this site offers an exciting underground passage experience. The tube's interior walls are covered with sponges and encrusting organisms, while shrimp and small crustaceans inhabit the darker areas. Outside the tube, the rocky reef hosts groupers, moray eels, and schools of Mediterranean fish. The confined environment, potential surge, and navigation requirements make this an advanced dive, but the tube passage provides a thrilling and unique experience along the Murcian coastline.
