Jack's Place is an intermediate dive site in the Somosomo Strait off Taveuni, Fiji, named for the impressive schools of bigeye and bluefin trevally that congregate here. The site features a series of coral ridges running perpendicular to the current, creating natural aggregation points for schooling fish. Beyond the jacks, divers encounter barracuda, grey reef sharks, and occasional eagle rays sweeping through. The ridges are decorated with healthy hard corals and vibrant soft coral gardens that Fiji is celebrated for. Timing the dive to match the tidal flow is key — an incoming current typically brings the best fish action and excellent visibility exceeding 25 metres.
