Wemyss Bay — SS Kintyre is a deep wreck dive in the Firth of Clyde, featuring the remains of the SS Kintyre, a steamship that sank in Scottish waters. The wreck rests at around 50 meters depth, making it a serious technical dive requiring mixed gas experience and decompression planning. The cold, dark Scottish waters at this depth create an atmospheric and challenging dive environment. The wreck structure has been colonized by soft corals, plumose anemones, and hosts populations of codling, pollack, and various crustaceans. The Firth of Clyde's rich maritime history means multiple wrecks are accessible from the Wemyss Bay area. This dive is strictly for experienced technical divers comfortable with deep, cold, low-visibility conditions.
