Aplysina is a gentle slope dive on Port-Louis's western shelf, named after the bright yellow tube sponges (genus Aplysina) that cover the rocks at depth. The site descends smoothly from around 10 metres down to 22 metres, and the relaxed profile makes it a favourite second dive or a comfortable run for recently certified divers. Expect groupers tucked into the ledges, pairs of creole wrasses cruising the coral plateau and the occasional turtle passing through. Conditions are calmest between December and May.
Dive Aplysina with one of these PADI or SSI certified centers within 20 km.
