Le Canon sits in the arch cluster off Port-Louis's west coast, a quick boat ride from the harbour. The dive follows a vertical wall down to a sand plateau at around 20 metres, punctuated by an arch that gives the site its name. Large groupers hold territory around the arch itself, barracudas hang in the blue above the drop, and moray eels occupy the deeper crevices. Advanced Open Water or equivalent is the sensible level because of the depth and the occasional surge that runs along the wall when swells come in from the north. Best diving window runs from December through May.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
