The Jardin Créole is one of Port-Louis's signature coral gardens. A river of white sand runs through the middle of the dive between two coral plateaus, which gives the site its distinctive open-field feel. Depth runs from around 14 metres on the top reef down to 26 metres on the sand. Creole wrasses drift in their characteristic slow shoals across the top, parrotfish of three or four species graze the coral, and groupers sit under the larger overhangs. A very photogenic dive when visibility is in the higher range, which happens most reliably from December through May.
