Chimney Cave is a beginner-friendly cavern dive on the south coast of Crete near Paleochora. The site features a wide, easily accessible entrance that leads into a spacious chamber with a natural chimney opening above, flooding the interior with natural light. This makes it one of the safest and most welcoming cave experiences in Crete, perfect for divers taking their first steps into overhead environments. The rocky walls host small groupers, painted combers, and colorful nudibranchs, while the sandy bottom often reveals hidden flatfish. Maximum depth stays shallow, allowing generous bottom times for exploration and photography.
