Dias Rock is a challenging advanced dive site off the south coast of Crete near Paleochora. This offshore pinnacle rises from the deep seabed, creating dramatic walls and overhangs that plunge into the blue. Strong currents frequently sweep across the rock, bringing pelagic species including large amberjack schools, barracuda, and occasional tuna. The rock itself is covered in vibrant gorgonian fans, yellow cluster anemones, and dense sponge gardens. Eagle rays and Mediterranean stingrays patrol the deeper sections, while groupers of impressive size occupy the numerous caves and ledges. Boat access only, with conditions requiring careful planning.
