Kalypso Walls is a beginner-friendly dive site at the Kalypso area on Crete's south coast near Plakias. The site features gentle rocky walls that slope gradually into the Libyan Sea, covered with colorful sponges, algae, and small anemones. The easy topography and sheltered conditions make it excellent for new divers and refresher courses. Marine life is typical of the warm south coast: ornate wrasse, rainbow wrasse, painted combers, damselfish, and octopus are commonly spotted. Small swimthroughs between boulders add exploration interest without overhead risk. Surface conditions are usually flat calm, and the warm water temperatures extend the comfortable diving season well into November.
