
Kori Reef is a beginner-friendly dive site on the south coast of Crete near Paleochora. This shallow reef system features a patchwork of rocky formations, sandy channels, and seagrass beds that create diverse micro-habitats teeming with life. The site is protected from strong currents and swell, making it consistently calm and clear. Mediterranean wrasse, damselfish, and blennies patrol the reef, while octopus and cuttlefish hide among the rocks. Nudibranchs of various species can be found on the rocky surfaces, making it a popular macro photography destination. The easy depth profile and gentle conditions ensure long, comfortable dives throughout the season.
