Koutalas Beach - Left Side is a beginner-friendly shore dive on the south coast of Crete. The left side of this secluded beach features a rocky shoreline that extends underwater into a series of boulder fields and small walls. Easy entry leads to a gentle slope where colourful Mediterranean reef fish patrol between the rocks. Wrasse, sea bream, and damselfish are abundant, while octopus and moray eels shelter in the crevices. The rocky substrate supports healthy sponge growth and small anemone colonies. Sheltered from prevailing winds, the site offers excellent visibility and calm conditions ideal for training dives and relaxed underwater exploration.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
