Ligres Beach is a beginner-friendly dive on Crete's remote south coast. This secluded beach, accessible only by dirt road or boat, offers pristine underwater conditions rarely found at more popular sites. The dive features a sandy entry leading to a natural reef of scattered rocks and boulders, with Posidonia meadows stretching between formations. The untouched nature of the site means marine life is abundant and confident: large octopus, schools of bream, and curious damselfish are regular encounters. The crystal-clear Libyan Sea waters provide outstanding visibility. The remote location and absence of boat traffic create a serene diving experience, though divers should be self-sufficient as there are no facilities nearby.
