Paximadia East is an advanced dive site at the Paximadia Islands, two uninhabited islets off the southern coast of Crete near Agia Galini. The eastern side of these rocky islands features dramatic underwater walls and deep drop-offs with rich Mediterranean marine biodiversity. Large groupers have established territories in the boulder fields, while amberjack and barracuda cruise the blue water beyond the reef edge. The rocky walls are covered with gorgonians, sponges, and colorful encrusting organisms. The remote, exposed location and potential for strong currents make this an advanced dive. Paximadia's pristine condition — benefiting from its uninhabited status — offers some of the best diving on Crete's south coast.
