Pleora is a beginner-friendly dive site on the south coast of Crete, offering a gentle introduction to Mediterranean diving along a rocky reef with sandy interludes. The site features typical Cretan marine life: octopuses hiding in rocky crevices, sea bream schools, ornate wrasse, and various species of gobies and blennies on the sandy patches. The warm water temperatures (20-27°C from May to October) and excellent visibility make diving comfortable and visually rewarding. Pleora's easy conditions and gradual depth profile make it suitable for newly certified divers and those returning to diving after a break. The site is accessible from dive centers operating along the Plakias coast.
