Rodakino West is a beginner-friendly dive site on the south coast of Crete near the village of Rodakino, west of Plakias. The rocky coastline creates an interesting underwater landscape of boulders, small walls, and sandy channels in clear Mediterranean waters. The site offers a peaceful dive experience away from the busier tourist areas, with healthy populations of Mediterranean reef fish including sea bream, wrasse, damselfish, and parrotfish. Octopuses and moray eels inhabit the crevices, while groupers can be spotted in the deeper areas. The remote south coast setting, with the Cretan mountains rising behind, provides a serene diving atmosphere typical of this unspoiled stretch of coastline.
