Old Quarry is a beginner-friendly dive site on the northern Attica coast near Marathon. This former quarry site now offers an interesting underwater landscape where man-made stone walls and cut rock faces meet the natural seabed, creating unusual geometric formations. The quarried blocks and shelves provide excellent habitat for marine life: octopus, moray eels, and scorpionfish hide in the angular crevices, while wrasse and damselfish patrol the open areas. Sponges and algae have colonized the quarry walls, softening the industrial past. The sheltered bay and moderate depth make it accessible for all levels, and the unusual topography adds exploration interest beyond typical reef dives.
