Small Reef is a beginner-friendly dive site on the northern Attica coast near Marathon. This compact reef system features a cluster of rocky formations rising from a sandy seabed at shallow to moderate depth. Despite its modest name, the reef supports a surprising diversity of marine life: wrasse, damselfish, and blennies are abundant, while octopus and cuttlefish shelter among the rocks. Nudibranchs and sea cucumbers can be found on the substrate, and Posidonia beds border the reef. The small size makes it easy to explore thoroughly in a single dive, and the calm, clear conditions ensure comfortable diving. A reliable local site for training and casual dives near Athens.
