
Small Cave is a beginner-friendly cavern dive on the northern Attica coast near Marathon. This accessible cave features a wide entrance allowing plenty of natural light, making it safe and welcoming for divers taking their first steps into overhead environments. The cavern walls are decorated with colourful sponges, small anemones, and encrusting organisms. Shrimp and hermit crabs inhabit the sandy floor, while cardinal fish hover near the entrance. Outside the cave, a gentle reef slope provides additional exploration with typical Mediterranean marine life including wrasse, blennies, and octopus. The sheltered location ensures calm conditions, making it a popular stop on local dive itineraries near Athens.
