Plimiri is an advanced dive site at the southern tip of Rhodes, where powerful currents sweep around the exposed headlands creating challenging but rewarding diving conditions. The underwater terrain features dramatic walls and deep drop-offs covered with gorgonian forests and dense sponge colonies. The current-swept waters attract impressive pelagic action: large schools of amberjack, barracuda, and dentex are regular visitors, with occasional tuna and eagle rays. Massive groupers occupy the caves and overhangs at depth. The remote southern Rhodes location means uncrowded diving in pristine conditions, though the exposure to wind and current requires careful planning. Home to the famous M/V Giannoula K. wreck nearby.
