
Schinias Bay is a beginner-friendly dive site near the famous Schinias beach on the Marathon coast of Attica. This large bay, known for its pine-fringed sandy beach and the 2004 Olympic rowing venue, offers calm, shallow waters ideal for introductory dives and training. The seabed features a gentle slope of sand and scattered rocks, with Posidonia seagrass meadows providing habitat for diverse marine life. Wrasse, damselfish, mullet, and blennies are commonly encountered, along with octopus, cuttlefish, and sea cucumbers. The sheltered bay ensures consistently calm conditions. A great option for combining beach activities with easy diving, just an hour from Athens.
