Blue Channel is an advanced dive off Roatán's southern coast, navigating through a dramatic channel cut through the reef at 15 meters. Despite the moderate depth, currents through the channel can be strong, warranting the advanced rating. The channel walls are richly encrusted with sponges, soft corals, and sea fans, while the sandy bottom hosts garden eels and jawfish. Schools of blue tang and sergeant majors funnel through the channel, and nurse sharks occasionally rest in the calmer sections. The unique topology creates an exciting drift dive experience in relatively shallow water.
