This entry represents the USAT Liberty Wreck at Tulamben in Chinese (自由号沉船), one of the world's most famous and accessible shipwrecks. The 120-meter American cargo vessel, torpedoed during World War II in 1942, rests on a volcanic black sand slope just 30 meters from shore at depths between 5 and 38 meters. The wreck has been transformed into a magnificent artificial reef encrusted with vibrant soft corals, gorgonian fans, barrel sponges, and hydroids hosting an extraordinary diversity of marine life. Bumphead parrotfish visit at dawn, pygmy seahorses cling to the gorgonians, and schools of sweetlips and glassfish animate the hull compartments. The shore-accessible entry means no boat is required, and the wreck's broken-open structure allows safe exploration for all levels. Night diving on the Liberty reveals a magical world of hunting predators, fluorescent creatures, and the ethereal beauty of the wreck illuminated by dive lights.
