The Tulamben area encompasses the celebrated sites of Seraya and Sidem, two of Bali's finest muck diving locations on the island's northeast coast. Seraya Secrets features a black sand slope that harbors an extraordinary concentration of rare critters: Ambon scorpionfish, Lembeh sea dragons, Banggai cardinalfish, and multiple species of frogfish hide among the sparse coral and rubble. Sidem, a short distance away, offers similar muck diving riches with mimic octopus, wonderpus, and flamboyant cuttlefish regularly sighted on the sand. Both sites are ideal for slow, methodical diving with a keen guide who knows exactly where the residents lurk. The gentle conditions—no current, warm water, and easy shore access—allow for extended bottom times perfect for underwater photography.
