Batu Belandra is an intermediate dive site in the Secret Gilis of Southwest Lombok, where a cluster of large submerged boulders creates an intriguing underwater landscape descending to 25 meters. The boulders are covered in hard corals, sponges, and tunicates, forming a complex habitat with swim-throughs and overhangs that shelter resting turtles, sleeping nurse sharks, and hunting moray eels. Between the boulders, sandy channels host garden eels and bluespotted stingrays, while the boulder tops are crowned with table corals that attract schools of fusiliers and surgeonfish. The play of light through the gaps between boulders creates dramatic photographic opportunities, particularly in the morning when sunbeams penetrate the clear water. Batu Belandra offers a wonderfully varied dive that alternates between reef exploration and rock formation discovery, making it one of the Secret Gilis' most enjoyable sites for divers who appreciate interesting topography.
